Arid Lands

August 25, 2009

“Arid Lands” will be shown at the Northwest Film Forum on Capitol Hill (12th Ave. between Pine and Pike) for one week, August 28 throught September 3.  There will be two shows nightly at 7pm and 9pm.  “Arid Lands” is about the land and people of the Columbia Basin near the Hanford Nuclear Site in Southeastern Washington.  The film won Best Feature at the NWFF’s 2008 Local Sightings Film Festival.  I have seen Arid Land, and I highly recommend it.  Tickets are $9 for the public and $6 for Northwest Film Forum Members.  Also, Heart of America Northwest, a Hanford watchdog group, will be tabling during the movie if you want to learn more about Hanford and the legal issues surrounding the site.
